- Special Lecture by Prof. Pierre Agostini - Celebrating the Nobel Prize in Physics on Attosecond Science - now available on YouTube channel
A special lecture by Prof. Pierre Agostini (Professor Emeritus, The Ohio State University), winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, was held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Yasuda Auditorium at the University of Tokyo, sponsored by the Institute for Attosecond Laser Facility. Prior to the lecture, a piano performance of the theme song of the Attosecond Laser Facility project (ALFA) opened the event. In addition, congratulatory remarks were given by Prof. Teruo Fujii, President of the University of Tokyo, H.E. Mr. Philippe Setton, French Ambassador to Japan, and Ms. Mizue Shiomi, Director-General of the Research Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
The video of the special lecture, which began with an opening speech in Swedish by Associate Professor Erik Lötstedt of the Quantum Frontiers Laboratory, The University of Tokyo who served as the master of ceremonies, can be viewed on the University of Tokyo School of Science YouTube channel.
