The first ALPS Symposium on Photon Science was held

On Thursday, December 26, 2013, “The first ALPS Symposium on Photon Science” was held in the 5th Floor Auditorium of the Chemistry Main Building. In this international symposium, the graduate students in the Advanced Leading Graduate Course for Photon Science (ALPS) course, who Prof. Yamanouchi acts as the secondary supervisor, as well as three ALPS course students from the Yamanouchi group, reported on their research activities in English. The symposium was attended by supervisors of the ALPS course students, Prof. Huailiang Xu from Jilin University, China, and Assoc. Prof. Sankar De from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, India. Lively discussions were held with valuable comments and questions from the attendees. After the presentations, the participants gathered in a small reception at the Auditorium foyer.
